The Friends of the Hudson Carnegie District Library is a volunteer group dedicated to supporting the library through fundraising efforts and by lending a hand at various events and programs. Meetings are held monthly from March through November, on the second Monday at 12:00 noon.

Friends of the Library groups are independent, nonprofit organizations made up of community members who are passionate about supporting their local libraries. These groups typically advocate for the library, help raise funds for special projects or equipment not covered by the regular budget, and volunteer their time to enhance programs and services. By building public awareness and rallying community support, Friends groups play a vital role in strengthening the library’s connection to the people it serves.

One of the HCDL Fiends signature fundraisers is the annual Hot Dog Sale at the Market House each October, held in conjunction with Customer Appreciation Month. It's a much-anticipated event that brings the community together while raising vital funds for the library.

Throughout the year, an ongoing book sale—located at the library’s back entrance—also contributes to the Friends’ fundraising efforts. A fun new addition to their event lineup is the 25¢ Event, where items are sold for just a quarter. The next 25¢ Event is scheduled for February 11 at the Hudson American Legion.

Annual membership dues are just $12, and new members are always welcome! Whether you’d like to attend a meeting, join the group, or volunteer at an event, we’d love to have your support. Feel free to drop by or call the library to learn more about how you can get involved.
